Frank (Rivas) Torres is a Q Grader who now oversees his family's estate in La Union, Nariño — land handed down from his grandfather, one of the first people to grow coffee in the area more than 80 years ago. Before returning to the farm, Frank worked in Starbucks' specialty coffee program and as a green coffee buyer for exporters. That background shows in the details: over 90% of Finca La Indonesia is now organic, and Frank runs his own careful, brix-monitored fermentation protocols across the farm's washed and honey lots.
